Identifying my prepaid card
Why do I have to identify myself?
Following a government decision, customers are required to provide identification to purchase a new prepaid card. This identification obligation also applies to current holders of mobile telephony prepaid cards in Luxembourg. If you did not purchase your prepaid card at a Tango point of sale, fill in the identification form available on our website.
NB: If you are a minor, the identification must be done by your legal guardian.
How do I identify myself?
- Online
- Go to the identification form.
- Choose beween QR code or text message to take a photo of your document. The rest of the process will take place on your phone, but keep this window open, as you'll need to return to it once identification is complete.
- Select the type of document you wish to share : ID card or passport.
- Upload a photo of both sides of your ID. Please respect a maximum size of 20 MB per file, make sure that the data is legible and that your fingers aren't covering the document.
- Start recording by pressing start. The app takes 3 photos of you to check the the data you entered previously are correct.
- Once identification has been successfully completed, the process will resume on your PC browser.
- Fill out and validate the form, while making sure all the information entered is correct.
- Once you have entered your basic and personal information, you can enter the number of the prepaid card you wish to activate. Press "Check" and "Continue".
- A summary of your information appears on your screen. Press "Complete".
- The process is complete.
Bring your valid identity document (identity card, passport, residence permit, certificates attesting to the filing of an application for international protection, pink paper). Your new prepaid card will be automatically unblocked and you will receive a text message confirming that your card is correctly identified. You must make an initial call to activate the call credit and bonuses.
Activating my prepaid card
To activate your prepaid card, follow these simple steps :
- Insert the SIM card and switch on your mobile.
- Enter your PIN code.
- Validate.
Tip: your PIN and phone number can be found on the back of your card.
Tips for checking your credit and topping up your card
To top up your prepaid card, after purchasing a Tango prepaid top-up, dial *121* , the 12-digit top-up code and #.
To check your remaining call credit, dial *120#.
