Activating your e-sim

Before you start activating the eSIM card, make sure you have at hand the subscription contract or the "Activation of your new eSIM card" e-mail you received from Tango with the information you need for activation:

  • QR code
  • PIN code
  • PUK code

To activate your eSIM card, it's essential that you're connected to a Wi-Fi network.

Before activating, also check if your phone is eSIM compatible.

  • Activating the eSIM on a Samsung
    1. Go to your Settings > Connections.
    2. Select the SIM card manager.
    3. Press "+ Add a mobile plan"
    4. Click on "Add via a QR code"
    5. Scan the QR code you received when you subscribed to the contract
      1. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm you want to add the mobile plan.
    6. Click on "Add"
    7. Your eSIM card is activated. You can now take full advantage of your Tango subscription!

     

  • Activating the eSIM on an iPhone
    1. Open the "Camera" application
    2. Scan the QR code.
    3. Press the "Cellular Plan Detected" notification.
    4. Click on "Continue" and then press "Add a cellular plan"
    5. Enter the PIN code
    6. Your eSIM card is activated. You can now take full advantage of your Tango subscription!

     

If you are using the eSIM to replace an existing Tango SIM card, update the eSIM card number on MyTango.lu - How do you go about this?

  1. Log in to MyTango with your user login (customer account number) and password.
  2. Click on "Line management" and then on the "cogwheel" of the line concerned
  3. Three options are displayed: click on "Change SIM" and under "New SIM", enter the number of your eSIM card, (find the number in the "Activation of your new eSIM card" e-mail received from Tango) then validate.
  4. Your eSIM card is activated and you can now take full advantage of your Tango subscription!
