What is Net Protect?
Net Protect is a unique service in Luxembourg, which protects your cell phone against viruses, dangerous files and harmful or misleading websites
. If you try to access a dangerous site, access will be blocked and you will be redirected to a warning page. It is a computer security solution that guarantees optimal protection for your mobile line on the Tango network.
Net Protect protects you in real time against:
- Phishing attempts: Net Protect identifies and blocks access to sites that try to fraudulently obtain personal data (by e-mail or SMS for example.
- Viruses: Net Protect protects you from both virus-infected sites and dangerous files.
- Malicious software (malware): Net Protect protects you from sites that may contain malware.
- Net Bots
Threats are immediately blocked and you are informed by an alert message on the device screen. You will not be able to view content that is considered malicious by Net Protect.
It is an ally in the fight against the thousands of fraudulent and malicious sites which try to obtain your personal data!

Does Net Protect protect me against all online threats?
Our cyber security service is updated every second with the latest threats. For even greater security, we advise all our users to remain vigilant and follow basic cyber security recommendations to avoid threats.
Net Protect protects you in real time against:
- Phishing attempts (by e-mail or text for example)
- Viruses
- Malicious software
- Net Bots
Net Protect does not protect you in the following cases, even if you are on the mobile network:
- When you use applications with a proprietary form of encryption;
- When you use applications or browsers that have an embedded (pinned) certificate;
- When you use secure sites that are whitelisted by Tango;
- If you change your APN;
- If you use a VPN service, proxy service or Apple Private Relay;
- If you are not on a mobile network (e.g.: WiFi);
- When using data compression services for smartphones (e.g. Opera Max);
- When using browsers that can compress and/or encrypt traffic, with the exception of Opera Mini, Nokia Xpress, Microsoft BOS and Google Chrome;
- When using a download manager, or when your download is paused for an extended period;
- When using a service that hides your IP address, performs DNS resolution of URLs via the HTTPS protocol, or encrypts unencrypted traffic.
- If you have activated Apple's iCloud Private Relay function (To deactivate it and take advantage of the option, go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Private Relay)
Net Protect is not a traditional anti-virus and cannot remove viruses, malware that are already on your mobile.
Are there any updates to be carried out?
All updates are performed by Tango, directly on the mobile network. Our engineers work continuously to keep your protection up to date, so you do not need to worry about anything.
Will this service slow down my Internet connection?
No, Net Protect is a network-based service, which means it does not slow down your Internet connection speed.
Does Net Protect also work on WiFi connections?
No, Net Protect does not protect you when you are connected to a WiFi network. However, you will be protected when using the Tango mobile network in Luxembourg, as well as mobile networks abroad.
